A phone opener establishes the connection before the main request. 여보세요 is the ordinary default, especially for personal calls.
After the opener, identify yourself or confirm the other person. A useful pattern is 저 [name]인데요 or [name] 씨 맞으세요?
Business calls may replace the generic opener with a company and department name, but they still need clear identification.
Do not carry the phone-specific expression into face-to-face encounters. Channel is the central decision in this drill.
