설명

TOPIK (Test of Proficiency in Korean) is the main standardized exam for non-native Korean. Employers, universities, and visa processes may reference TOPIK levels. But many learners also use it as a structured milestone.

TOPIK I (levels 1-2) has listening and reading only. TOPIK II (levels 3-6) adds writing and raises the linguistic ceiling: longer texts, abstract topics, and productive writing under time pressure.

Scores map to levels via official cutoffs that can be revised; always check the latest guide for your test date. Use a calculator after mock tests to translate raw section scores into a level estimate.

A practical beginner path: (1) solidify Hangul and high-frequency grammar, (2) build a 1,000-2,000 word active recognition base, (3) do timed listening/reading sets weekly, (4) only then specialize in writing templates if you need TOPIK II.

Free Chamelingo tools help before you buy expensive prep packs: placement quiz for a rough band, vocabulary reference for daily SRS fuel, TOPIK score calculator after practice tests, and grammar pages for weak patterns you miss in mocks.

Mindset: TOPIK rewards consistency more than cramming obscure words. Track errors by type (vocab / particle / inference / time) and fix the largest bucket first.

예문

저는 내년에 TOPIK 시험을 볼 거예요.

I’m going to take TOPIK next year.

듣기부터 매일 연습해요.

I practice listening every day first.

흔한 실수

  • Jumping to TOPIK II writing before you can parse intermediate reading at speed.
  • Collecting PDFs without weekly timed practice. Untimed study lies to you.

연습 방법

  1. Take one diagnostic mock, then schedule two short timed sections per week.
  2. Log every unknown word into review the same day.
  3. Re-take a similar mock after four weeks and compare error types, not just score vanity.
