전라북도에서 시작하여 전라북도 동부 지역과 충청북도 남동 지역을 지나 서해로 흘러드는 강. 중류와 하류에 평야가 발달되어 있어 과거 백제 문화의 중심지를 이루었다.
English: Geumgang River — The river flowing from Jeollabuk-do, or North Jeolla Province, through the eastern region of Jeollabuk-do, or North Jeolla Province, and the southeastern region of Chungcheongbuk-do, or North Chungcheong Province, to the Yellow Sea; fields are developed around its midstream and downstream, which is why it became the center of Baekje culture.
