심청가

판소리 다섯 마당의 하나. 효녀 심청이 장님인 아버지의 눈을 뜨게 하기 위하여 제물로 팔려갔지만 용왕의 도움으로 세상에 나왔다가 왕후가 된다는 ‘심청전’의 내용을 담고 있다.

English: Simcheongga — One of five episodes of pansori, a traditional Korean narrative song; it is a performance from a novel, "Simcheongjeon", The Tale of Sim Cheong, in which a filial daughter, Sim Cheong was sold as a virginal sacrificial offering to the sea so that her blind father could make temple donation capable of miraculously restoring his sight; with the help of the Dragon King of the Sea, she returned to the land and eventually became a queen.
