    한국의 서쪽에 있는 바다. 한반도와 중국에 둘러싸여 있으며 중국 내륙에서 흘러 오는 황토 때문에 바닷물이 누렇다. 밀물과 썰물 때의 수위의 차가 심하여 간석지가 발달해 있다.
