Korean Money Practice

Sino-Korean + 원 (천 원, 삼천 원, 만 원…)

How to read Korean prices in 원

Prices use Sino-Korean numbers with 원. Place values matter: 십 (10), 백 (100), 천 (1,000), and 만 (10,000) let you build common prices such as 삼천 원 and 만 원.

Instead of translating each digit from English, learn to recognize the Korean place-value chunks directly; that makes menus, shops, and checkout amounts much easier to process.
