Explanation

-아/어야 되다 and -아/어야 하다 both express obligation: 가야 돼요 / 가야 해요.

돼요 is extremely common in speech; 해요 is also fine.

Negative obligation (“must not”) uses other patterns like -으면 안 되다.

Pair with time expressions for schedules: 내일까지 끝내야 돼요.

Level: elementary. Read the pattern, say each example out loud, then write two new sentences of your own before moving on.

After you can produce the form, open related Chamelingo pages (vocabulary, conjugator, particles) so the pattern connects to words you actually study.

Examples

약을 먹어야 돼요.

I have to take medicine.

지금 출발해야 해요.

We have to leave now.
