Explanation

Polite endings attach to the verb with no space: 가요, 먹어요, 학생이에요.

Do not write 가 요 or 학생 이에요 as two floating pieces in careful text.

Particles attach to nouns without spaces: 학교에, 물을: then the verb carries 요.

Chat may be sloppy; essays, TOPIK, and work messages should keep standard spacing.

Examples

지금 집에 가요.

Correct: no space inside 가요.

물을 주세요.

Particle 을 attaches; request ending is one unit.

Common mistakes

  • Random spaces before 요.
  • Spacing particles away from their nouns.
