At airport immigration, answer the actual officer truthfully and concisely. 방문 목적이 뭐예요? asks the purpose of the visit. Possible truthful language includes 관광하러 왔어요 for tourism, 친구를 만나러 왔어요 for visiting a friend, or 공부하러 왔어요 for study when that accurately describes your trip.
얼마나 머무르실 거예요? asks how long you will stay. Answer with a duration: 이틀 동안 머물 거예요, 2주 동안 머물 거예요, or 한 달 동안 머물 거예요. 어디에 묵으세요? asks where you are staying, so give the real hotel, home, or address.
An officer may ask for a return or onward ticket, accommodation details, or another document. 여기 예약 확인서가 있어요 means “Here is the booking confirmation,” and 휴대폰에 있어요 means it is on your phone. This page is language practice, not visa or entry advice; current requirements depend on nationality, status, documents, and official decisions.
If you miss a question, say 잘 못 알아들었어요. 다시 말씀해 주세요. For slower speech, use 천천히 말씀해 주세요, and if needed say 통역이 필요해요. Do not guess or memorize a false answer merely because it is easy to pronounce.

Common mistakes
- Do not choose a sample purpose because it is easy Korean. Give the truthful purpose and details of the actual trip.
- Do not confuse duration with a date. 동안 marks the length of time; a departure date answers a different question.
- 입국심사 is airport entry inspection. 출입국·외국인청 refers to an immigration office; the situations and questions are not identical.

How to practice
- Prepare your real purpose, duration, accommodation, and departure information in short Korean and in written form.
- Practise hearing the question first; do not recite all trip details before knowing what was asked.
