만나서 반갑습니다 literally connects “meeting” with being glad, and functions naturally as “I am pleased to meet you.”
It is polite and suitable for first introductions at work, school, events, language exchanges, and meetings through friends. 만나서 반가워요 is a softer polite version common in less formal situations.
처음 뵙겠습니다 focuses on the respectful fact that this is the first meeting. 만나서 반갑습니다 focuses on positive feeling. Saying both is possible in a formal introduction.
The phrase is normally exchanged: one person says 만나서 반갑습니다, and the other can answer 저도 만나서 반갑습니다 or simply 네, 반갑습니다.
