Café Korean is mostly a closed set of moves: greet, order, confirm ice/hot, pay, optional points card. Master the skeleton and you can freestyle drink names later.
Order skeleton: (안녕하세요.) + [ice/hot] + [menu item] + [quantity] + 주세요. Example: 안녕하세요. 아이스 라떼 한 잔 주세요.
Customizations use -해 주세요: 샷 추가해 주세요, 덜 달게 해 주세요, 두유로 해 주세요. Keep one customization per order until you are comfortable.
Here vs to-go: 포장해 주세요 (takeout), 먹고 갈게요 / 매장에서 먹을게요 (for here — wording varies by chain). Staff may ask 포장이세요?
Payment: 카드로 결제할게요 is universally safe. Loyalty apps are common; you can say 앱으로 할게요 if you use one.
If you do not understand a question, 다시 한 번 말해 주세요 or 천천히 말해 주세요 buys you time without awkward silence.
