A Korean café is the best low-stakes place to practice 존댓말. Staff expect 요 forms, short orders, and clear yes/no answers. You do not need perfect grammar — you need a reliable script you can vary.

Walk in, make brief eye contact, and open with 안녕하세요. If there is a queue, wait your turn; when it is your turn, speak a little louder than you think you need. Pointing at the menu is completely normal.

Build the order as: [temperature] + [drink] + [quantity] + 주세요. Example skeleton: 아이스 아메리카노 한 잔 주세요. Swap 아이스 for 핫 (or 따뜻한), swap the drink name, swap 한 잔 for 두 잔.

Payment is usually card-first. 카드로 결제할게요 is safe. If you need a receipt: 영수증 주세요. For takeout: 포장해 주세요. For here: 먹고 갈게요 / 여기서 먹을게요 depending on store habit — staff will confirm if needed.

After you leave, re-say the order once without looking. Change one variable (size, ice, number of cups). That single production step is what turns a phrase page into memory.
