Korean restaurants reward clear attention-getters and short polite requests. 여기요 or 저기요 gets staff without sounding rude when you raise a hand slightly.
Ordering pattern: [dish] + 하나/이 인분 + 주세요. For set menus, 이걸로 주세요 while pointing works. For spicy level, listen for 맵게 / 보통 / 덜 맵게 and answer with the same adjectives + 요.
Water is often self-serve; if not, 물 주세요. Side dishes (반찬) are usually free refills: 반찬 더 주세요.
When finished: 계산해 주세요. At the counter you may hear 카드요?: answer 네 or 현금이요.
Practice goal: run a 30-second monologue: call staff → order two items → ask for water → ask for the bill. Smoothness beats vocabulary volume.

Common mistakes
- Do not snap fingers or yell 야: use 여기요.
- Do not forget 주세요 when ordering; bare dish names sound incomplete.
