Explanation

Default feel: (time) (place) (object) verb. 어제 카페에서 커피를 마셨어요.

Particles mark roles, so order can flex for emphasis, but verbs usually stay final.

English speakers often finish with the object by habit. Push the verb to the end.

Mistake: 마셨어요 커피 카페에서 yesterday-style jumbles.

Level: beginner. Read both sides of the contrast, say the examples out loud, then write one correct and one incorrect sentence and fix it.

Cross-link: open the related grammar or tools page the same day so the fix sticks in your study graph.

Examples

Common mistakes

  • Translating the English pair word-for-word without checking which Korean form carries the real distinction.
  • Treating the two forms as free synonyms after memorizing only one example.
